What is CARS?
Community At-Risk Services (CARS) is a wraparound program for youth who are on probation or in the custody of the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA). Through counseling, mentoring, tutoring, and other supportive services, CARS helps youth build skills, strengthen relationships, and work toward positive goals.
Services & Life Skills
CARS services are tailored to each youth's individual needs and may include individual counseling, family counseling, social services, tutoring, mentoring, and life skills. CARS counselors help youth work on:
- Decision-making
- Goal setting
- Coping skills
- Anger management
- Substance use prevention
- Family and peer relationships
Goals and objectives are developed with each youth and are based on their individual service plan.
Who We Serve & Referrals
CARS serves youth who have entered the juvenile justice system through a contract with OJA. Services are provided based on an OJA-approved individual service plan and are designed to support each youth's needs and help prevent further involvement in the juvenile justice system.
Referrals are required through the Juvenile Bureau or OJA.
