Marie Detty Youth and Family Services offers Botvin Life Skills to schools in Comanche, Jefferson, and Stephens Counties. This is a free service paid through funds from OJA.
Botvin Life Skills is an evidence-based curriculum used to provide life skills classes in the schools covering topics like tobacco and alcohol use, violence, nutrition, health, problem solving, character development and much more.
The lessons run from 30-45 minutes. Staff is flexible to meet the needs of the school and students. Each series lasts between 8-15 weeks. This curriculum is meant to be taught every semester from 3rd to graduation.
