In-Step (It's my life)

What is In‑Step?

A completely free, 12-hour program designed for youth ages 11–18 and their parent(s)/guardian(s). The goal of In‑Step is to strengthen family relationships and help young people navigate life more confidently. Participants meet twice (6 hours each session), typically held on Saturdays.


We serve Comanche, Jefferson, and Stephens Counties in Oklahoma.

What You’ll Learn

For Parents/Guardians:

  • Better ways to communicate within the family
  • Listening & understanding each other
  • Reinforcing positive parenting techniques
  • Effective discipline strategies
     

For Youth:

  • Managing anger in positive, constructive ways
  • Self-control & emotional regulation
  • Making smarter decisions to avoid negative consequences
  • Problem-solving skills that work

Program Details

Cost: Free to all participants

Who can join: Youth (11–18) + at least one parent/guardian

Schedule: Two sessions of 6 hours each (usually over two Saturdays)

Where: Locations in Duncan (Jefferson & Stephens Counties) and Lawton (Comanche County)

What to expect: Interactive workshops, role-plays, real family exercises, group discussions
